the problem

Each year KPMG publishes the Women’s Leadership Study. A comprehensive survey of more than 3,000 women executives exploring the qualities and experiences of professional work.

Key findings include:

  • Childhood lessons and early exposure to leadership have a significant impact on a woman’s perceptions of her ability to lead.

  • Confidence, the encouragement of positive role models and the presence of a strong professional network shape a woman’s view of leadership in the workplace.

  • Innovative corporate initiatives and senior female leaders can motivate and reinforce women on their way up the corporate ladder.

the solution

Drawing upon the findings of the survey — engaging potential leaders by investing in high-performing women with the capacity and inclination to lead, as well as actively connecting junior-level employees with senior leader mentors/ sponsors — {embrace} worldwide developed a comprehensive mentorship programme consisting of two parts:

A ‘mentor-mentee’ values and commitment workshop

  • The role of mentor and mentee

  • Mentoring best practices and guidelines

  • Value sharing

  • What does success look like?

  • Agreeing commitments for mutual success and personal growth

Mentee network with group executive coaching

An opportunity for the mentee cohort to build rapport and bond as well as a safe place to speak openly -- group coaching is an opportunity to share ideas, thoughts and practice behaviour change.

Workshop topics include:

  • Emotional Intelligence

  • Productivity and Effectiveness

  • Risk-taking and resilience
